Digital Check was pleased to recently donate scanners to the Ronald McDonald House in Winston-Salem, NC after they had literally worn out their previous scanner. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) conduct fundraisers throughout the year and, as a result, scan tens of thousands of checks in the process. Their previous scanner was in need of replacement, so they put in a call to RemoteDepositCapture.com who referred them to Digital Check.
For over 36 years, the RMHC has been meeting the needs of families with houses now in over 52 countries, serving over 4 million families each year. The Ronald McDonald House provides a “home away from home” for families that have to travel to hospitals while their children are being treated at nearby hospitals. These houses allow families to focus on what is most important, the healing of the child, while taking away the burden of finding affordable housing and meals during the treatment period. The Ronald McDonald Houses allow families to seek the best treatment for their children by providing lodging at little to no cost.
In some countries, RMHC even provides mobile medical care to areas without primary health care facilities. RMHC also provides grants to not-for-profit organizations around the world that are providing care and making an impact in the lives of children in the greatest need. In addition, RMHC also makes scholarships available to children who can’t afford the cost of a higher education.
