Two of the most common replaceable parts for the Quantum DS high-speed check transport are now available for bulk purchase. The Quantum DS Consumables Kit includes fifty (50) feed roller tires, as well as fifty (50) separator rings. These user-replaceable parts allow the operator to quickly and easily repair worn components in the field, without a service call.
While any scanner will eventually show effects of wear and tear on the rollers and separators, replacements are needed infrequently on most ordinary desktop check scanners. Due to the extremely high number of items typically captured and sorted by the Quantum DS, these parts wear down much more quickly, and replacements are common. For perspective, with many Quantum DS users scanning 25,000 documents per day (or more!), they will often exceed the total lifetime usage of most teller scanners in as little as a week or two.
