Digital Check Receives Patent for AccuTrac™ Plus Feed Alignment System

AccuTrac Plus automatic check alignment systemNorthbrook, IL (October 8, 2015) – The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued a patent to Digital Check Corp. for its automatic document alignment system for check scanners. U.S. Patent 9,114,942 covers a new mechanism for straightening misaligned checks and documents in the scanner’s input tray before they are pulled into the document track – thereby eliminating the most common source of paper jams and misfeeds.

The new alignment system, named AccuTracTM Plus, uses a vertical tracking mechanism to pull down checks that are sitting unevenly in the input tray – a frequent challenge when dealing with large stacks of paper documents. It will be included as an optional feature in several future Digital Check products.

Jeff Hempker, Digital Check’s vice president of marketing and North America sales, commented: “Precision is extremely important when dealing with payments and bank documents, especially in large numbers. The AccuTrac Plus system ensures that our scanners will deliver a properly aligned, accurate image, with little or no chance of misfeeds.”

Live demonstrations of the new AccuTrac Plus system will be available at the BAI Retail Delivery Conference and Expo on October 13-15 in Las Vegas, NV.
